Artist Spotlight

Artist Spotlight

Artist Spotlight is a Warewolf Reviews series where once a week an Artist, Musician or Band gets highlighted as I feel they don’t get the attention they deserve.

You will also find a link to an Artist Spotlight Playlist, by clicking on the Artist Photo, curated by myself to help limit the fear and anxiety of discovering great new music.

Ethan Field is a young guy I have seen on my TikTok feed for some time now that is always making funny, music related content. Little did I know, he himself makes serious music. Really good music.

Once again, this is an artist that came up on my For You Page doing comedy bits with music and what not. I chose to deep dive into his discography and it could be my best music decision thus far in 2024. I have beyond hyperfixated on many of Carter’s songs and for that reason he is getting a full spotlight dedicated to him.

Carter Vail has a plethora of singles, a full debut record called “Red Eyes” and one or two EPs “The Interstellar Tennis Championship Vol. 1” and “Vol. 2”. Carter tackles a multitude of different sounds and is flexing his creative muscles creating melodies that, for the life of me, I cannot get out of my head.

An unbelievably talented group of guys who met at NYU a few years back and have been getting people on to the dance floor ever since.

The band has two albums Something Sweet and No Tonic. Both records are layered with pop, jazz, rock, alternative and funk influences, as well are all of their singles. Above you can find some of my Highlight Songs for the group which features my literal most played song of 2023: “Drunk Ambition”

An interesting rock band that I’ve recently stumbled across from Chicago. These five men dominate a niche sub-genre of rock music. I find them to be to modern rock music as what Alice In Chains were to the grunge scene in the 90s. Not in the sense that they’re carbon copies of one another, but rather they understand the importance of melody, clear vocals and memorable hooks.

The band just released their debut record ‘Nowhere’, and they also have four EPs, ‘Nothing or Forever’, ‘I LOVE YOU ROBOT, SUPERSTAR!’, ‘Friday Pilots Club’, and ‘While You Wait.’ They have a bunch of singles in between all of those EPs and a bonus Live EP from the popular Audiotree Live. They all have different things to love about them.

Based in Argentina, these two young ladies have skyrocketed into my top tier of bands.

Pacifica is Inés and Martina and they have mastered the art of melody and harmony. With a brief cover album and a debut record of original songs, Pacifica is one of my top artists to watch out for.

In early 2023, Martina came across my Instagram reels as she was playing the bassline to Paul McCartney’s “Silly Love Songs”. I thought if this girl can play this bassline with this much love and admiration then she must be special. I then uncover Pacifica through Martina’s profile and the fan girling started immediately.
