Paul McCartney Unplugged (1991)

Are we at all surprised that Paul McCartney still, after a couple of decades, sounds incredible singing the music that he loves? We shouldn’t be. This official bootlegged recording of his MTV Unplugged performance that he did will go down as one of the greatest stripped albums of all time.

McCartney gets back to his basics and his roots and breaks many songs out of the vault, like I Lost My Little Girl, which was one of the first songs he ever wrote at 14 years old. All over this record are McCartney solo songs like Every Night, and Beatles classics like I’ve Just Seen A Face, Blackbird and a completely new and refreshing rendition of And I Love Her. That is one of my all time favorite Beatles songs and it was amazing to here Paul sing it reimagined.

This record plays wonderfully as a whole from start to finish and yes .. back to back to back NSAs for Paul. He is on an unstoppable run at this time.

Own it, Stream it, Forget about it?

Apparently it is very tough to find a physical copy of this record, but if you ever come across one then you should buy it! For any setting that calls for acoustic music, this album should always be in contention to be played. Stream the hell out of it until then.
