Uncorked (2009)
In the ever-evolving landscape of music, there are few artists who can weave music and lyrics as enchanting as Al Stewart. With his most recent record to date, "Uncorked," Al invites us to listen to one of the greatest acoustic live albums of all time. History and melody collide, capturing the essence of Al’s legendary talent and charisma.
From the first strum of the guitar to the final note, each track on this album is imbued with a sense of authenticity and spontaneity that is nothing short of mesmerizing. Whether it is “Last Days of the Century” and “Constantinople” presented in medley form or reimagined arrangements of “Princess Olivia” and “Palace of Versailles”, you will be enthralled. But it's not just the hits that shine on "Uncorked." Al takes you back through his extensive catalog, delivering lesser-known gems with the same enthusiasm and charm as his more popular tracks.
On all of the live albums available for streaming, you won’t find many live versions of “Bed-Sitter Images” from Al’s debut record, or even a live performance of “News From Spain”, which kicks just as much ass as the original. Throughout the album, Stewart's stage presence is magnetic, drawing listeners in with his warm and charismatic demeanor. Between songs, he shares anecdotes and insights that offer a glimpse into the inspiration behind his music, creating a sense of intimacy that makes the listener feel as though they're sitting front row at one of his concerts. Al has always been a storyteller and every side tangent he goes on holds your attention tightly.
"Uncorked" is a triumph for Al Stewart and a testament to the enduring power of live music. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a newcomer to Al’s music, this album is sure to captivate and inspire, leaving you craving more long after the final notes have faded away.

Own it, Stream it, Forget about it?
Own it. So so so so so good. The best way to hear Al Stewart live is with a full band playing with passion and energy, but if you strip that all back, this is the best you will ever get of Al. This is a massive No Skip Album.
